I’m excited to officially welcome you to Eye of Abalone.
For a long time, I wanted a place where I could share more than just finished carvings. I wanted a space where people could follow my journey as an carver, learn about the stories behind each piece, and gain a deeper appreciation for the traditions that continue to inspire my work every day.
This website is that place.
Whether you’ve been following my carving for years or this is your first visit, I’m grateful you’re here. Eye of Abalone respectfully acknowledges that this work is created on the traditional territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples, represented today by the Songhees Nation and Esquimalt Nation.
I honour the generations of Indigenous artists, knowledge keepers, and master carvers whose teachings and traditions have preserved Northwest Coast Indigenous carving since time immemorial. Their legacy continues to inspire my work, and I offer my gratitude and respect to all who continue to carry these traditions forward.

While you’ll find photographs of completed carvings throughout the site, Eye of Abalone is about much more than showcasing finished work.

A Journey of Learning
Every piece of wood presents a new opportunity to learn.
Carving teaches patience, discipline, and respect, not only for the material itself, but for the generations of artists and knowledge keepers who came before us. Their teachings continue to inspire me each time I pick up my tools.
I’m still learning, and I always will be. That commitment to growth is one of the things I value most about carving.
My hope is that each new project reflects that ongoing journey while honouring the traditions that have shaped this art form for generations.
Looking Ahead
As new carvings are completed, the gallery will continue to grow. I’ll also be sharing updates from my studio, stories from the carving process, upcoming community events, and new opportunities to connect with my work.
